HHS and USDA Secretaries Announce Major Reset of American Dietary Guidelines

The new dietary guidelines are expected to help Americans prioritize their health and lower health care prices.

The U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Agriculture (USDA) have released a new dietary guide for Americans for the years 2025-2030. This new set of guidelines marks one of the most significant resets to the federal nutrition policy in decades.

“These Guidelines return us to the basics,” said HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. “American households must prioritize whole, nutrient-dense foods—protein, dairy, vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, and whole grains—and dramatically reduce highly processed foods. This is how we Make America Healthy Again.”

“This edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans will reset federal nutrition policy, putting our families and children first as we move towards a healthier nation,” said USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins. “At long last, we are realigning our food system to support American farmers, ranchers, and companies that grow and produce real food.

With almost 90 percent of current health care spending going toward the treatment of chronic disease, much of which is linked to diet and lifestyle choices, federal agencies intend to reestablish healthy foods as “the foundation of health” and foster greater nourishment and education on the matter. The departments also hope to use this tool to lower the cost of health care in the U.S.

The new guidelines are also expected to positively impact the quality of food for SNAP, WIC, and Head Start recipients, as well as food served to public school students, members of the military, and patients in Veterans Affairs hospitals.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as he oversees updates officials in his department and its agencies make to national health policies.
  • For USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins as her department works with HHS to promote the availability of healthy foods.
  • For God to bless the nation’s farmers and ranchers as they seek to produce an adequate, healthy food supply.
  • With gratitude to the Lord for His blessings and provision for the United States.
